I saw these on ebay:

I can't recall if the original tri y's for early Mustangs were long tubes like these. Would thes work in my 2wd 85? I have HAD IT with the Hedmans dumping directly into the I beam and for the 150 + shipping I think it's time to dump my 89500's.

Yea, they'll work. I've got these (same type, but name brand unknown) on my 89. Just beware that you may have to angle grind the bottom side of the head flanges to fit the E7 heads. I had to with the set I've got. Mine are nickel chromed. Mine fit my Canfield heads with raised by .400"ports with no mods. I've used em with both with no mods to the exhaust system, only I had to leave the driver's side collector gasket out when I went from the Canfields to the E7 heads. No leaks there though.

OK, :icon_confused: I understand that "no leak" is "no leak", but do you care to explain? I figure it's gotta' be something simple. Too simple for me!
Was it just too tight to get the gasket into it? Ya' got tired of fightin' it?

When I ran the exhaust, the motor had the Canfield heads on. Later when I pulled that motor and replaced it with another with E7's, the drivers side collector to the exhaust pipe fit was too tight to get the gasket between em. So I just left it out. Didn't leak a bit, the two flanges fit so tight, it needed no gasket. I just thought I'd include that info, in case you ever planned to swap heads to one's with raised ports. Your exhaust will still bolt up, most likely.
