Trasnsmission swap '98 to '96

Hey everyone, new guy here, i have owned a 98 ranger for years but alas she is rusting away. i picked up a 96 that is really clean but has over 300K on it and a blown trans. both are 4.0L 5speed 4wd. looking to find out if i can just swap out the motor and trans from the 98 into the 96 body. any and all input greatly appreciated thanks.
