Ok, so just the other night, I hit a deer with my mustang (GRRRR!!!). Anyway, I know insurance will total out the car bcause of the year and the fact the air bags deployed. Soo.... I was going to put a 302 into my ranger, which i have 3 blocks i could build up, but since then, I have had several people tell me to put my mustang engine into the ranger.

So what I have is a 1996 Ford Mustang GT (SOHC) 4.6L V8 bolted to a T5 Tranny.

I have a C6 tranny and NP205 transfer case that were going to go into the ranger? Will the 4.6 and C6 bolt together? Or are there adapters out there to make them bolt together? Or what transmissions will bolt up to the 4.6L?

Thanks for any help on this!! :-)

No it won't bolt up to the mod motor. You will need a 4r100 or a 4r70w out of an f150 with a 4.6 or 5.4.

What year Ranger?

ty. plus i recently saw that the 4.6 is about 10inches winder over the 302... might decide to stick with the 302 afterall.
