transmission year

I have a FM 145 5 speed transmission. I wanted to see anyone could tell me what year it is. this the info; model # FM 145, t/m assy # E57A 7003 KC, build code 020526.
I searched the wed, but I did not it.

The FM145 was used in very late 85, 86 and 87. The info on the trans probably won't tell you exactly when it was built, but the trans didn't really change at all during it's run, so getting the exact date isn't really that useful.

What engines was it made for? It's on a 2.9, but it's there is a 1/4'' to a 3/8'' spacer plate between it a the 2.9. The bolt holes line up, but then bell housing and engine block are not the same shape. So there is a big hole where dirt and oil could get on the clutch. So I also wanted to see if it's the right transmission.

It was used on the 2.8, 2.9 and 2.3. The 2.8 and 2.9 have the same bell, the 2.3 bell should not even come close to bolting to a V-6.
