I have a 1984 ranger 2.3L 2wd with a 4 speed manual I want a 5 speed manual what trannsmission would work with little to no modification

Nothing will work with no modification.

A Mazda M5OD from behind another 2.3L will work with a driveshaft replacement and some work relocating the transmission mount.

You'll also need different clutch hydraulics and a stick/boot.

A TK5 will work with a driveshaft replacement and a big tube of K-Y (they SUCK and they are all 20+ years old).
