Hey so I have a 1991 Ranger 3.0l manual and converting to 4x4 from 4x2 I'm in need of a Transmission. Do I have to get a 1991-1994 transmission or will any newer year work? OBD II was introduced in 95+ so I don't know if they use the same switches or not such as clutch safety switch my gut tells me there will be no issues and speedometer isn't a problem since it's in the transfer case now. Thanks!

It's an M5OD-R1 (M5R1) transmission, must be for a 3.0l Vulcan engine, used in Rangers from 1991 to 2008, no detachable bell housing on this trans
And 4WD version so transfer case can bolt on

Other that that the backup light connector may be different, same 2 wires just different connector
