Transmission swap HELP!!! 92 Ford Ranger 2.3L

Ive had this ranger for a while. My dad swapped in a rebuilt 2.3 and automatic trans out of a 88 mustang....trans wont shift outta 3rd.

I have a manual transmission from a 2.3 mustang....the gear shifter is probably 6 inches further back on the manual than the automatic.

What to do......cut the floor board further back? I have no prob shortening the driveshaft. ANY IDEAS? Anyone done this before?

If u use that tranny, that sounds like ur only option. It also means that u'll have seat clearance issues.

I'm pretty sure this has been discussed before, anytime a mustang tranny goes into a ranger.

Is that the T-5? I think there is a way to make it work. Dunno what it is though.

no not a t-5.......its just a manual trans from 2.3l.....i havent been able to find any info so far.....

sits about 6 inches back....i can cut the floor and put in some buckets but does anyone know if the transmission crossmember matches up?
