I have a 2004 Edge 4.0 w/ 5 speed auto trans. Once in a while it shifts hard going into 2nd gear, sometimes it shifts like new. I took it to AAMCO in Covina and the guy told me that it's the teflon bushings on the center shaft going through the trans case, and needs a rebuild, only has 96,450 miles. A friend of mine is a Tech for AMR and says it could be a censor problem not mechanical. Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

there is a gasket that goes bad in these transmission, in the valve body, it just needs to be replaced

I think that if you have almost 100k on an auto trans it is time to just get a reman and not worry about it anymore.
