hello, I own a '94 ranger with a 2.3 4cyl engine, manual trans. Just recently I was heading home from dumping off some yard waste and was turning a corner, I put the gear into 2nd and began turning when suddenly my truck felt like something had just dropped out of it. I heard a loud thump/clunk, and when i put my truck into first gear from losing so much speed, it wouldn't even respond. The gears are as if it's stuck in neutral.
I can turn the truck on and then put the shift into what it says is first gear, after that I can take my foot off the clutch and the motor will still be running but the truck itself won't go into gear, obviously something is either wrong with my clutch or my linkage because i would still get forced shifts if those two things were fine and it was just the transmission right?
