If they are both V6 trucks you don't need to swap the bell housing. Going between 2wd and 4x4 your issue is at the other end of the transmission.
You can't just slap a t-case on a 2wd trans and go. The output shaft is different. For that to work properly with no outside parts they would both have to have the same wheelbase. Then you take the transmission AND the driveshaft.
