I have a 2002 ranger 4x4 with the 3.0. My question is when I'm towing my 4 wheeler should I do it with the overdrive on or off? The trailer is a basic 5x10 tilt. The whole package is about 1300 lbs. I'm guessing a little on the high side I know the 4 wheeler is 475 lbs. Where I go is mostly f!at with a few rolling hills but not to bad. Nothing real steep. Thanks

When pulling a trailer, unless driving across "Kansas" at 60mph+, recommend having "OD OFF".
Engine will run at higher RPMs, but Tranny will shift less, thus be under less stress & likely run a little cooler.
Especially towing, be sure to service your Tranny frequently, changing the ATF+Filter & adjusting the Bands.

I forgot to mention that it is all interstate about 100 miles round trip.

If it can't decide weather or not it really wants to be in OD, I'd shut it off.

If it putts along just fine without hunting I wouldn't bother.
