I have a 1990 2wd ranger that the last owner swapped to 4x4 Manual trans. The problem is I don't know what year the parts ranger was. I'm having a problem with the shifter popping out of place cause the nylon ball on the end of the shifter is wore out. It looks close to the 84-87 shifter with the plastic mounting base but is a little bit different. Any help would be appreciated

Welcome to TRS :)

Bookmark this page: http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/index.shtml

A must for Ranger owners

Click on Transmissions section and then on Manual trans ID

There is also an article in trans section on shifter bushing replacement
Neither address will let me view the transmissions, I try going into the topic and it backs me back out

Mobile browser or something on a PC? For what it's worth, there seems to be a problem with loading TRS from mobile browsers at the moment.

Looks like I have the Mitsubishi FM146. Does anyone know where I can purchase a new complete shifter handle? The nylon ball on the end is only about a half ball. I'll try to pull the handle in the next few days and get a picture. I don't think the bushing kit will fix this one but I could be wrong
