Recently picked up a 90 Ranger xlt with the A4LD and 2.9 engine. Transmission was a replacement for the original, and I need to determine what year it is to finish the band adjustment I'm in the middle of. Does anybody know how to decode the trans ID tag for the build date? The year spot on mine says 07, so I assume its a 1990 trans with the double wrap OD band (84+7 = 90, assuming 84=1, 85=2, etc).
Any help? I've been searching for a while now.
