Transmission help...please!

Hey all, I'm in need of some info. The trans in my 94 Ranger 4L 4x4 shat the bed, I grabbed a trans out of a 93 Explorer 4L 4x4...please tell me they are the same, I can't find the hole...so to speak. Hoping it's just me not being able to line it up on my own.

AFAIK, they should be the same.

In the most literal sense they are not the same, they are different. The one from your truck is a year newer, and broken, and you can set them next to each other side by side, in two different locations at the same time, and so they are two different units.

Physically they are identical though.

They're the same. Make sure the torque converter is fully seated on the trans input shaft before installing, or you'll destroy the front pump.
