will someone direct me as to what Transmission will fit my 1993 Ford Ranger 3.0?
If you know from what year and to what year will hook up with no problem?
and will a Tranny from a 1994 Explorer with a 4.0 work?
Thank you in advance.

Things like auto or manual would help, but in general unless you want
to take the transmission apart I'd recommend another 3.0 like yours.

the 3.0 has a unique bellhousing pattern

Remember what I said ^^^?
Same applies to 2wd Vs 4x4, unless you want to completely disassemble the trans.

Then there are year differences...

See the possibilities multiplying?

I am very sorry that I did not explain what Tranny I was talking about.
It has an Automatic in it now. and it seem's to be FROZE up.
when I put it in gear the Tranny will engauge but! The engine will go dead.
If I apply some RPM when I shift it into gear it still will not move and the engine goes dead.I thnk that something is Busted in the Transmission.
thank you:icon_confused:

what vechile's can I find that would have the A4LD tranny that will work in the 1993 Ranger? is it
Ranger, Areostar, tarus, etc.

It sounds like the torque converter is locked up. This can be fixed without getting a new transmission. You need a trans from another 3.0 Ranger (1994 or older), and if yours is 2wd, the new trans must also be from a 2wd. If it's 4wd, new trans must be 4wd.

You need to have yours checked out before installing another tranny, If you dont know what the problem is then how do you know a simple solenoid wont fix it? Or it could be serious and run out of tranny fluid or anything. I would investigate more before looking for a new trans.
