Can anyone direct me to where I could get some info on tranny cross-members for a 1988 and a 1995 ranger? The 95 is totaled and I'm trying to determine if the cross-member is interchangeable with the 88. They look close to being the same but I haven't taken any measurements yet. Any help would be great!

Fits 1983-1997 ford ranger the same thing and otherwise approximative $50 +shipping

What would the part number be and from where? I am doing a SAS swap and need something like this so I can mount the radius arms in place of the outside type mount.

there is no difference between auto and manual crossmember correct?

Or just hit up a junkyard and pull a crossmember out of a mid 80's ranger. They are the style that fit inside the frame rails, bolt on directly without using sh*tty rubber mounts, and allow you to remove your exhaust without having to take it out.

Totally worth it if you're not up for spending the money for the one they posted above.

I need a crossmember for my 88 2WD automatic. I'm hitting the salvage yards today but if no luck going to order a solid bar crossmember. The crossmembers in my area have bolts that are so rusted you can't get them out? Also, why do most aftermarket stores have such limited information on what their crossmembers fit?

The good thing about the one I mentioned getting is that you can completely cut off the mounts for the original crossmember. Those brackets are worthless and the rubber bushings on the end of them are irreplaceable. It's definitely NOT one of Ford's better ideas.

Oh, and aftermarket stores for non-OEM stuff just... SUCK! They expect YOU to know what you're needing without them having to answer questions.

Who the hell wants to actually "help" customers out, other than finding their wallet and taking out the green?

Interchangeable 2WD and 4WD

I know this is an old thread, but it fits my needs, so bump.

I have an '85 Ranger and I'm wondering if the transmission crossmembers are interchangeable between 2wd and 4x4...I'd think this is a no-brainer, but I just bought the truck, it's a 2wd and it looks like there's a bend in the crossmember to accomodate the transfer case. If anyone has pics of their 2wd crossmember, it'd be much appreciated.
