My 87 has the one with rubber bushings and I've been looking at the solid aftermarket parts.

(hope the links work)

Will these replace the original cross member on a stock 4x4 and not interfere with the front driveshaft ? I've read yes and no and just wondering if it'll fit and also wondered if they're prone to vibration ?

Don't see where it would be any worse than my old one with dry rotted bushings. Gotta be metal on metal now. I've read about the expo swap but these replacements seems like an easy way out.

I got rid of the rubber isolated cross member off my 88. I just simply used one from a 92 ranger that bolts solid to the frame. You will need to remove the current frame hanger on the passenger side as the 3 holes on the new cross member line up with the holes in the frame and drill a hole on the drivers side to make it work.

If you have a welder and some fab skills just make your own.
