Hey there I have a 1995 stx ranger with a 1997 4.0l 5spd driveline. I am looking at getting a 24' fifth wheel with a weight of about 2500lbs I know I can tow that much as I've towed more then that before but only short distances. I have been looking into a transmission cooler as it was recommended if I was going to do some traveling. However I haven't seen any available and didn't see anything related in the few fourm pages I've looked though. Any tips or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

5 speed manual, or 5 speed auto?

Manual trans has no pump to circulate trans fluid like an automatic does, this is because it doesn't need one.
The gears spinning circulates the fluid, much like in the differential, this lubes and removes the heat at the gear and bearing surfaces, if properly aligned there is not enough heat generated to require an external cooler, even when towing.

So there is no reason to add a pump and cooler to a manual transmission for towing.
