Surprisingly, there are no videos on replacing these suckers. I would even consider making a video if it was -25 out!

Anyway, I was curious if anyone has ever done these? Is a special tool necessary?

For the end that goes into the Rad it seems like it a but that keeps it on, similar to a brake line?

Yes they are similar to brake lines, flared ends with a threaded hollow bolt/nut.

Video here on how to make your own: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBXRXsc--jA

Tube wrenches are good to use to keep from rounding the nuts, but not required.

You can get flexible trans cooler lines, but it isn't cheap.

Thanks Ron,

I brought it to a shop for an estimate and they ended up doing it for 80 bucks... can't complain i guess

they only cut the steel and clamped on a new hose though. if i replaced both lines it woulda cost me 80 in parts...
