I have a 1998 3.0L 5 speed and i had been hearing what i belived to be bearing whine coming from what i assumed was the release bearing. Yester day driving down the road the wine got super loud and more rough if that makes sense. Then all i smell is burnt clutch or tranny fluid and the truck dies. Now i can get the tranny in gear fine and the pedal action feels normal but when i try to start it the engine acts life the transmission is still slightly engaged but the truck doesnt lurch forward or anything. Im so confused any help would be greatly appreciated.
