Trying to pull the manual transmission out of my 96 3.0. I GOT the two bullshit top bolts using a 30" extension. There's one just below the top bolt on the drivers' side, I CANNOT get a socket on there, even after lowering the transmission. That danged sheet metal lip is making it impossible. And I can't seem to get up under there any other way. Maybe if I was a bit smaller LOL.

Besides that one, How many bolts total are on the transmission to separate from motor? I was told there are some on the motor side as well. How many and where are they?

Spent 6 hours today getting to where I am at now.

Called it quits before I started throwing crap.

Do you have any ratcheting wrenches? They make this job much much easier.

Yes, I do. I think I can get to the one behind the sheetmetal lip easy enough with one. However, I can't seem to find any more bolts easily, and was told that there are 2 or 3 coming from the engine side. Been googling for a diagram but can't find one anywhere, looks like there were different bellhousings and the 3.0 was different from the rest.

Perhaps this will help. Looks like there are some bolts on both sides

Did this 2x this week. Ratcheting wrench makes it much easier. I bent that lip out of the way. 6x 15mm bolts, 3 13mm in the starter, and one maybe 10mm holding the metal flywheel cover. The exhaust on my 92 is a pain to get around, but it can be done, esp. After a couple whacks with a hammer in certain spots in the tunnel while it is out.
