Hey all,
Doing some cosmetic / carpet work and so I removed the transfer boot.
Does this appear as it should?
Note, there used to be a 3” body lift which I deleted. I think the bent edges of floor might be from the upper shifter section rubbing into it when the truck had the body lift.
Anyways, is there anything missing here other than the rubber boot? I just wonder what happens if debris ever falls down in here. I suppose the transfer case is sealed down where the shifter bar meets it at the top of transfer case, otherwise road debris would sometimes get up and down in.
I‘m going to put back the shifter boot after refurbishing it a bit, and will also be adding some kind of platform to better seal off the air / sound.

You're all good. That's an external bracket bolted to the rear of the transmission. All that is supposed to be here is a shift boot with some foam inside. If you look from under and find the large bolt holding this bracket to the transmission, slightly more to the rear is a 13mm bolt you can loosen to adjust this.

Looks decent to me.

No. Nothing can get into the transfer case from there. If you crawl under the truck with a flashlight you will see that.

Great thanks!
What does said bolt adjust?

It adjusts the shift gate. Put it in 4hi and rotate it CCW until the lever almost hits the stop that prevents it from going into neutral.
