transfer case motor issues

So I've taken my transfer case motor apart and cleaned. Now I've got it working. ( didn't do anything before). Before I bolted it back up I tested it hooked up to the truck. It turned and worked great. I bolted it up to the truck, hit the button and just got clicking from the 4x4 module. I can't seem to figure out why it would turn the transfer case.

It sucks not having 4x4, and I need to figure it out one way of another

Pop the motor back off and grab the nub with some pliers, see how hard it is to turn.

OK I will try that tonight when I get home. I wasn't sure if that would hurt it or not. Lol

Sorry for the late reply. I got it fixed tho. I turned it with a pair of pliers and it turned smoothly. So I took the motor apart again and found that I put the cover on wrong. Put it back with the marked lined up and it worked
