Transfer case linkage

I've got a question for anyone who can help .
My 84 rangers t-case seems to need adjusting . As it is I only have 2 h and 4 h . And it dosn't go into 4 h until its in the n position on the detents . So I guess my question is how do I adjust it . This is my first ranger and I'm learning about it as I go . any help would be great . Thanks

sounds to m like it's missing the plastic spacer that goes on the lever coming out of the transfer case, may be a good place to start.
