Looks like I have to replace the ESCM in my BII, and will have to get one from a junkyard. I have found several listed on various jy search sites, but not from my specific vehicle.

Does anyone know:
What years and models of vehicles have an electronic shift control module that will be interchangeable with my 1987 BII, 4x4, EB, AT.
Thanks.

According to www.rockauto.com it is interchangeable with:

FORD BRONCO II (1986 - 1990)
FORD EXPLORER (1991 - 1995)
FORD RANGER (1986 - 1995)
FORD RANGER SUPER (1986 - 1995)

I would also think the Mazda Navajo would work as well (91-94)

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the info. I tried looking up this part on Rock Auto, but couldn't find it. (Or on Advance Auto, AutoZone and NAPA) Where is it listed? Under which category?
Thanks.

I just went to 87 Bronco II and then typed in "shift motor" and it came up. Or go to the category "transfer case", then it's under "motor".

I wonder if they are talking the electric shift motor rather than the module. In any case I would think that the module would stay the same for those years, it just makes sense. I hope the last portion of the last sentence doesn't turn around and bite me:)

Oh, my bad. You're talking the box between the seat? I'd go to www.car-part.com or the Bronco Graveyard and get a used one off there. I apologize, I'm sure the exchange will be the same too.
