Transfer case compatability

Transmission and transfer case are from an 1986 Ranger with a 2.9L(not going into a Ranger) Can the BW1350 transfer case be flipped from a driver's drop to a passenger drop? If so what all needs done to do it. If not will a Dana 18 bolt to the transmission output? I have searched here as well as other places and have not been able to find much information regarding these questions. Thank you all for your time.

Someone told me today that the Mazda B-series used the same transmission as the Rangers with a different transfer case. They said the transfer case had a passenger side front output for a passenger side front differential. Can anyone confirm this? If it is true, is it a direct bolt on? Thank you for your time.

Aren't the older ones (pre1994) different from the Rangers? I thought that they were. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Pre-'94 B-series are COMPLETELY different, yes. I highly doubt you could swap t-cases between them (seems if you could, I would've heard about someone doing it by now in the 10 years I've been on the various forums).

The only way I can think of to get a pass-drop case on a RBV is either via an Atlas II, or by using a doubler made from a 1350, but designed to accept a t-case from another vehicle behind it (such as a D300). That or go with a divorced case.
