trans shift probelms

I JUST PICKED UP A 96 RANGER A4LD/ 4.0 OHV.
HARD SHIFT WITH IN THE CABLE . IN THE MORNING OR LONG SITTING
PERIOD, THE TRANS WILL NOT SHIFT INTO REVERSE OR DRIVE. AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF IDLING IT WILL GO. ONCE THE TRUCK STARTS AND YOU GET THE SHIFTER IN REVERSE, IT WILL RUN REAL SLUGGISH AND ALMOST OR DOES STALL. AT THIS POINT THE OVER DRIVE OFF LIGHT STARTS TO FLASH.
AND ALSO I HAVE THE CAM SENSOR/SNYCHRONIZER SQUEAL. DOES ANYONE HAVE A WORD OF ADVISE.

By the way, don't use all caps. We hate that around here.

Oh, and I've gotten limited replies on this issue. So far the ideas have been the Trans filter, or the Vacuum Module. I think/hope it's the module.. I can do that myself.

trans shift problems repost

i was told one quart low could cause problems , hard shifting cable could not put it in gear all the way, and to try thr bg product for transmission to supposenly it will soften the seals.

and when it soften them up then they get too soft, additives are quick fixes nothing permenant though.
