Auto Trans Shift Problem
I have a 96 Ranger Super Cab with a 4.0L and auto trans...4R55E...160xxx miles. I bought it used but I doubt they ever did anything other than change the oil...
Now, whenever I shift from Park to any gear, there are a few moments before trans will engage. It really freaks me out because when I shift into Reverse at home, parked on a hill, the truck jumps when the trans engages.
Today, I was getting ready to leave the house and as the trans engaged the engine died and the O/D OFF light stated blinking...I was able to roll onto level ground restart the truck and was able to shift fine...
Went to local auto parts store that does free OBD testing and apparently I have EGR and O2 sensor problems out the arse.
Any ideas?
