ive got a 96 ranger that i just put in a new flex plate..... after everything was installed i started it up and put in drive and i got nothing.... it like i have no gears... the trans was rebuilt about a year ago and a new torque converter was installed... i had no problems wat so ever when i put in the trans a year ago

Theres is a faint grinding noise that sound like its coming from the bell housing..... would a bad rear diff prevent the truck from moving

Hate to be the bearer of bad news. You may have broken the front pump. When a TC is set against a transmission , it has 3 steps that bring it into place. If this wasn't done correctly...

You didn't set the converter back in properly. Like Andy already said, it's a great bet you have damaged the splines on both the pump and the converter.

thanks for the reply.... I was thinking the same thing... I wont be able to look into it for a few months I just had surgery on my shoulder... do you think a new tc would solve this problem... the splines on the shaft looked fine

when ii turned the transfer case by hand without the tc in the shaft spun in all gears... when I put the tc in and spun it everything still spun except tc
