trans from 87 mustang into 89 ranger?

Does anybody know what transmission an 87 mustang would have? its a 2.3l 4cyl. just need to know if it would swap with the trans in an 89 ranger 2.3, 2wd. i *think* the ranger should have the m5od?

Most likely the Mustang would have a T5 5 speed which is not as good
as M5od MR1.Bell housings maybe the same but where the shifter is located and output shaft size and trans mount are different configurations most likely.
