Ok I had a skyjacker kit, sold it, along with the kit went the trans crossmember/mount.

My truck is a 4.0l so I know I need one from a 4.0 to get the solid mount crossmember.
Bitch is finding a 5spd manul ranger or explorer.....

dose any one know for a fact if a auto and manul crossmember will interchange?

and if any one has any simple homebuilt cross members lets see them...

Well my 87 a4ld truck now has an m5r1 sitting in it and the original crossmember has, 'Auto' and an arrow towards the front of the truck. It all lines up just fine. Last week at wreckers I found a crossmember that looked just like mine but no stamping as to manual, auto, front, rear, etc.
HTH

What year is your truck?

I used the crossmember from my '83 auto truck in my '93 explorer that had a manual. I just had to do a little modifying ( the frame on the explorer is narrower). Just cut and drill.

as for simple and home built, todd has one in his truck, its part of a high lift jack.
