whats the difference between the A4LD the 4R44E and the 5R55E.im trying to find a floor shifter for my A4LD trans but just found out that the trans code is the same on the 4R44E and the 5R55E as well as the A4LD.will the floor shifter assembly from an mid 80s ranger or bronco2 aerostar mustang bolt right up to all 3 trans without issues.it would make my search a tad easier if someone could answer this question?since they share the same trans code?

They are the same transmission, 4R added more solenoids for full computer shifting control, 5R added software to computer to get a 5th "gear"

But the shifter cable mounting was different on the 4R and 5R, so I would doubt an A4LD linkage setup would work.
Universal floor shift would work, or you may be able to adapt a Ranger floor shift for cable use
