question----can the t-5 or the t-45 transmissions be mated to the ranger 2.3l in placed of the m50d one, if i swap bell housings?

sorry 92 ranger, 2wd

Tell us how you're going to swap bellhousings.

It would require a big bandsaw, some kind of jig to square it up, and a TIG welder

I hope you aren't under the impression that a T-5 is somehow "better." It isn't.

Some bellhousings bolt on. I just dont know which ones. and t-5's and t-45's maybe arent better, but are easier to find. Ive been looking for a tranny for my ranger for over a week now, and ocala4sale.com and craigslist all over the state of florida i cant find em. as well as this site and the 'other' ranger site. and a few explorer sites. I still havent got my tranny out of the truck yet(need one more tool) so those of you who have seen one if you know that its not a bolton bellhousing just tell me "no" you cant do that.

Since apparently I dont have the tools (LOL) to swap bellhousings i guess i wont swap tranny's. just gotta fix my own.:shok:

I used to work on T-5's

I consider them lower than the shit from the worms that feed on
the UNDERSIDE of whale shit.

the gears are not forged, they are made from powdered metal!

The M5OD-R1 is a MUCH better transmission.

If you REALLY want a T-5 you can bolt a T-5 to a 2.3 engine.
you just need to get it from a 1987-88 Thunderbird Turbocoupe.

These used a T-5 and a hydraulic clutch with an external cylinder.

IF you REALLY want it it's possible.

BUT let me tell you that you THINK you want it but trust me you really don't...

The t-5 MAY shift a little better, but compared to a well maintained Mazda they simply don't have the durability.

Yes, even with a 2.3 Turbo making 5.0HO torque.

Im in the same boat except I want to put a T-5 behind my 4.0 I have heard to get a T-5 out of a 85-95 Mustang. It that one any better? 85-95 used a cable for the clutch correct?
