Probably a very stupid question but would a 5spd out of an '84 b2 work in an '87 ranger. The slave cyl locations are different between the two,so thats one difference.Any help would be great,I was just wondering 'cause the synchro's apparantly are going bad in the ranger tranny.

I think you'll have to switch the master cylinder and clutch line to match your new slave.

Worst case scenario, you have to trim your floorplate and carpet to account for a new shifter location, possibly lengthen or shorten your driveshaft and relocate or replace your transmission crossmember.

Any one, all, or none of those could be true or false in your case. Read about manual transmissions in the tech library and you should be able to get sorted out.
