Tranny swap

Will a manual tranny out of an 86 2.3 bolt up to an 88 2.9? And does it have to be out of a 4X4? My Ranger has a c-5 in it allready, but it originally had a manual transmission.

it will not bolt up. However, you can swap the bell housings on both transmissions and then it will bolt up.

If the truck was 4wd, then you need to use a 4wd transmission.
