alright yall, i got myself a 88 bronco 2 and im in the process of puttin in a new tranny. But when i got one from a junkyard i had to romove the transfer case and now i cant find a gasket to put it back together. Ive had pople tell me to use a rtv type gasket maker and ive also been told to se a gasket matrial and just cut out one myself. I was just wonderin which way is easier ad which is more realiable. thanks in advace fo readin thin and for yalls help!

Is the original gasket intact? If so, leave it on and reuse it. If its questionable, get some high temp ultra lack rtv.

just make one! 20 minutes (auto parts heavy gasket material) made more than one my self. i bought a set of gasket punches at hb freight there not much in price. use the transfer case for gasket pattern.

Time, cost, ease, RTV will be the best of all of them. The gasket is cheap, but they are usually a next day item.

Swapped the tranny on mine 8 months ago and had the same issue. Old gasket was shredded. spread some rtv black on there and it's still holdin strong
