Tranny Slipping 01 Auto

I was coming home for work tonight and the tranny started to slip. I drove any other 6 miles and it started to go out. I ended up having to pull over for 10 min. and let the truck cool before I could go on. I got another mile or so and I had to pull over again, not moving. there was no warning of this , just started to happen tonight. Can I adjust the bands or do you think it's a bigger problem ?

I just tried to go for a ride . I got about 6 houses down and then it stared to slip again to the point it wont move under power. I could really use some help on this guys.

I know the tranny will slip like that if the fluid level is down too far.
