ok i have a 89 2wd ranger. it has the 2.9 v6 with the m5od tanny. i am taking the tranny out it is stuck in 3. i bough the truck for 500. i have the tranny unboulted and ready to come out. the problem i am have is the FUCKING CLUTCH LINE:temper::temper:!!! how in the world does it come off. help me please!!

it will. it has a check ball so it won't leak fluid all over and you can just bleed the slave quickly.

I usually just use two screwdrivers. Sometimes they can be a pain but eventually do come out. I actually got frustrated one time and I just strapped the thing to a tranny jack and got it to move back and off to the side just enough to get in there and then I took the steel rollpin out of the slave cylinder and pulled both fittings out. From there I found it alot easier to get the fittings apart before much fluid dripped out. Remember that there are three points which the line comes apart at, the master cylinder, outside of the bellhousing, and inside the bellhousing. It is possible to detatch it at atleast ONE of those points in just about any situation, so don't go thinking that you have to cut the hydraulic line because that'll just leave you in a mess of trouble!

They can be a pain, once you get the little plastic thing pushed in, sometimes you have to push the line in and wiggle a little before it'll come out..
