I've found a few others on here with this problem, Hope ya'll can help..

Driving to work came off the highway and pulled up to the light (uphill) All of a sudden truck made a bang and shut off.
Restarted in neutral and let my foot off the clutch same thing happened.
Restart and ease off the clutch while giving it gas managed to ghet the last mile to work but felt like it was in high gear all the way.

After work got a mechanic to look at it, he said all the forks were right for neutral but it still would pull forward. Drove it onto level ground but it felt like 5th. Waited 5min cranked up and I hav'nt had a problem since.

Already checked the plastic ball on the shifter and its good. So is it worth it to rebuild or not? I have a spare fm146.

My Brother had a 88 2wd that did the same thing, slung him into a ditch so I'm not really driving it till I figure it out.

Replaced the Trannsmission, clutch, clutch release bearing and rear main seal on the engine. all good to go now.
