tranny install tricks and tips

im putting a 5 speed in my ranger and i pretty much have it all figured out but on the install its snagging up between the exhaust cross pipe and the pinch weld up above and tips/tricks to slip it in?

Take the exhaust out. It fits better.

the exhaust bolts are siezed up would it mess anything up if i cut that pinch weld that the top of the bell housing is getting stuck on?

Install a 3 inch body lift

Cut a couple slits in the pinch weld and pound it flat with a BFH.

^ What he said! If it still don't wanna go in try soaking the exhaust bolts real good with PB Blaster over night then pull them out. But make sure to get a tap and clean the threads then put anti seize on the bolts before you put it back together.
