Tranny input shaft question

I've got a 5-speed Mazda tranny for my B2, been standing up in storage for a few years. The input shaft seems to have been smashed in so that it doesn't stick out past the casing anymore and it just sits flat on the ground where as before it stuck out enough to make the tranny tilt to one side when it stood up. Here is a pic of the inside of the bell housing - you can see down inside there is a ring that goes around the casing around the shaft. You may not be able to tell from the picture but this ring is all caddywhompus, like it's not seated properly or something.
Any ideas on what's going on with the shaft and how to fix it?

That's the coaxial slave cylinder piston all cattywampus. Replace your slave cyl.

Not sure about your input shaft stickout issue, though it wouldn't be related to the slave cyl. Regardless, having the trans standing on it's input shaft probably wasn't good for it.

You said tranny input.....
