alright guys im new to this forum and i absolutly love it . so to start i have an 86 ext cab ranger lowered a little bit and im build a 302 for it . My question is how much tranny tunnel work will i have to do to fit the m5od in it, i know a t5 would be much better but this is just temp so i can save up for the t5 , any help or advise would be greatly appreicated.

None. It mates right into the firewall/tunnel shape. You will have to cut and reweld the shifter since it will come up into the dash, but other than that it's a solid fit. A T5 isn't necessarily better, just different. The M5OD will hold a surprising amount of power. It will no doubt hold what you would build a N/A street 302 up to.
