tranny free wheels going down hill

I have a 02 ranger 4x4, 4.0l, 5r55e, the trans in 4 dig or 2 wheel drive free spools going down hill on flat ground it will run in low gear but as soon as you start down hill its like it is in neutral unless you give it gas any ideas?

under 30mph it free wheels, over 35mph it should engine brake then free wheel.

if it does it at all speeds then your one way bearing is toast.
