Hi all,

I have a 1984 BII that had a 4 speed manual tranny. I am installing a F145 4speed w/OD from a 1987 BII into it. Can I use my old tranny support and move it back on the frame? Or, must I install the newer support that used the external perches? Any info would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think the crossmembers are the same on those transmissions; it is the A4LD and the FM-146 that uses the farther back transmission cross members

Thanks for responding.
The old 4 speed measures 22.5 inches to the bolts of the mount.
The newer 4 speed w/OD (F145) measures around 25".
There are holes in my frame that maybe will allow my usage. As yet I do not know.

on the '84ish trucks there were holes in the frame for at least 3 different trannies apparently, you can use your stock crossmember
