Good Morning Everyone,

I am going to be replacing my CV axles soon and had come across the Trakmotive extended CV's on Rockauto.

Has anyone ever used them?

I am only running a relatively stock suspension (pre key mod & #1 bars with a mild crank). Would these be worth it?

Thank you.

I think those are intended to Rangers with a suspension lift kit that gives more lift than swapping keys and cranking them up to maximum or near maximum.

The stock length is all you need.

I kind of figure that stock length would be ok , but I was just curious to know how they are reviewed. It seemed that they are stock length, but with the ability to slide as needed.

Honestly, in my case, its probably one more thing to go wrong on me.

I have them in my Lowered AWD FX4 LII.. They are stock length but have the ability to slide out a few inches in the center shaft. They have caged bearings on both ends instead of a tri-lobe on the axle side. The sliding shaft is captive so it can't pull out, where as the lateral movement on the oem axles is acheived from the tri-lobe socket. Sometimes on lifted truck the tri-lobe will pull out of the socket as there is no retainer of any type in an oem lobe socket.

They are very beefy, and seem to be quite good quality, but I would honestly just get motorcraft replacements or the regular line trackmotive if it's a stock-ish truck doing stock duty.

I only bought them because being so low I needed the high angle ability, the caged bearings give them more running angle than a tri-lobe socket which starts to bind when angled too much. And they have been performing well.

I also bought the trackmotive front driveshaft, which is also very nicely made and seems to have a pretty robust cv-joint on the transfercase end.

Note: The angle of the oem splined ends makes it look shorter in this pic, it is an illusion, the splines and threads are identical length.

Note: This is an Explorer driveshaft part number in the pic, I have an AWD T-case, there is a different PN for Ranger 4wd T-cases.
