i have been looking in to train horns because my horn doesnt work. i just discovered i even had one the other day wile installing a OHC.

so me question is. is there any laws on having them? if i mount them back words where the spare tire goes do i still have to worry about getting mud in them?

thanks
Brandon

any laws all states are different so you will have to check with them now for the horns you could mount them facing the back of the truck and also make a plate to cover the bottom of them with a lip so it will kinda cover up the open horns

i dont want to have to replace them every 6 months or how ever often. where else would be a good place where i wont get anything in them?

under the hood if you could find a place or between the cab and the bed where the point up

A guy i used to work with had "train horns" on his GMC p/u. But instead of actual air horns, he just did some research, and went out to buy 2 regular car horns that blast the right musical notes. (you can buy horns that play specific notes) Sounded friggin awesome and was NOT illegal in any state or province. He even mounted them where a horn usually goes.

i was goin to use train horn but the kits are expensive, so i got my buddy to pull some air horns off a international dump truck, run them with an air pig at 125 psi, sounds really good an loud an i did it all for about $50, also mounted them behind my grill

Not agains the law but might o over the decimal level for your state so you might have to get a restricter for it. but if you want it to play is aloud as it can you point it at the ground and then it makes it sound spread out and cant hear where it is coming from.

One thing about train horns on a vehicle. They really grab your attention, QUICK!!!! and everyone elses as well.

I always thought it'd be cool to mount two on the roof of the cab. Like a semi kinda. Is that lame? haha

On a P/U, yes air horns ARE lame & look UGLY!!!

If you had an F650, you could get away with it.

ya mine fit perfectly behind my grill an i painted it black to match the grill an you can even see it.

Around here we shoot idiot air horns and drag the driver out of their stupid rides and then we crush their stupid ride and burn it in the Hell Pit out on HWY19. We got about 10 of them in the pit now!!!!!

Not really!! But I would like to do that........hmmmm. Maybe I will........

wat about the compressor and tank? where would i mount it? i dont have a tool box

My pops used to roll w/ an old Fire Extinguisher that was hooked up to an Air Horn off an old Peterbilt when he needed people to move outta his way. That always worked and I bet startled more than a few people who didn't expect anything that loud.
