I have a 2000 Ford Ranger 4cyl Auto trans and was wondering if I could haul around a 400lb 5x8 utlity trailer? Ive heard that the 2wd suspesions are not able to haul trailers from some people but I figured 400lb is small enough? The bumper and manual says it can haul 2000lb.

yeah, it should pretty easily, I mean, if you can haul 2 or 3 people in the bed of your truck, along with a driver and passenger, you can haul a fully loaded smaller uhaul trailer with about 800lbs in it.

it will haul it like it wasn't even there.

4wd's are not any stronger than 2wd's

if you wanna start hauling stuff though you might wanna get a frame mounted hitch and some stronger leafs. but it will be fine the limit for your truck is really the engine. Supposedly the trucks can tow around 5000#
