trading my truck

So I am looking for advice. I have a 2000 ford ranger suppercab 4 door 4x4 with a winch and brand new mickey thompson mtz. My question is do I sell it and buy my buddies 96 f-150 supercab 4x4 with the 302 and 155xxx. He wants like 3 grand for his and it is my dream truck. Just don't know if I wanna part with my ranger

pros: the ranger is newer, you know all the issues, you have upgrades on it, you are attached to it, better gas mileage, has the 4.0 which is a good motor, ladies love it
cons: smaller truck, not as manly

f-150
pros: bigger, stronger, v-8 sound
cons: older, dont know what issues it has, 155,000 can be a lot of miles, bad gas mileage, dont know if he changed the oil much, probably been driven the shit out of


Id keep the ranger.

I concur with low_five, you already have a good truck although an f150 is a good truck yours is just fine.

Plus you just put some good upgrades on it. if you really want the truck for the truck then i would have to judge by condition of the truck, if you want the 5.0L then you can always swap in a 5.0l...

how much does he want for the ford and is it in good shape?

if i could find a 96 in good shape with 4wd i'd jump all over it cause its the last year of that awesome body style.

I cant use the gas mileage as a pro or con. My Ranger gets like 13 mpg becuse of all the stuff i put on. and i hate the small cab. when me and my brother go hunting i cant put all our stuff in the back seat, and my rifle case wont even fit in the back, it has to go in the bed. The F-150 has been kept in good shape and as far as i can tell runs great. im just tired of not having any room for people when i go places.

save your money up, go find a 96 f150 that has seen better days, fix it up and have both
