Nice! I like Jeeps. Any plans or just daily driver?

solid rig. is that black or forest green?

Don't take it in the woods at any sort of speed. Not to jump on the bandwagon and say it sucks ( I used to have a '97 ) but a member came onto another forum I am a member of stating how glad he is to be alive. That type of Wrangler has plastic in the floor/firewall area without any real protection there, apparently this guy had a 3"-4" log come through the firewall and it almost decapitated him. This was the year that newer bodystyle came out, so it may have been fixed, but ever since I saw the pictures of that Jeep with the log coming up by the pedals, I've been scared to ride in one in the woods.

Smack yourself NOW!

It is gonna cost you for a lift and tires and gears I have ownd a lot of Jeeps and still have 2 Jeeps...stock jeeps are not great for wheeling and that 4 door is under powered. I have driven plenty of those 4 doors that were stock and thay are so under powered. Need a Hemi moror in them. Is that a 4 cyl??

Specs? What year? Does it have the new 3.6L V6?
.

Good deal :icon_thumby:

Any more/larger pics?

As far as being underpowered, I have yet to drive a V6 Explorer that I would call overpowered. And the weight of any vehicle is enough to punch a post through the floorboard/firewall.

I saw the pics he is talking about. Good size log, 8-10" thru the floor and up into the seat cushion. YIKES!

If this is a 2012 with the 3.6 pentistar engine, Congrats, and rock on!

If this is anything BUT a 2012 with the new engine, You have made a serious error in judgement.

A serious error in judgement may be a bit harsh but the 3.6 is definitely the way to go if you are looking for a new wrangler. I drive them everyday and it is a big improvement.

I just got rid of a 2008 just for the whole underpowered problem of which you speak.

The hemi versions of the Jeep are awesomly............................ overpriced!:shok:

Those 3.6's are great, but I cant IMAGINE the costs of new heads/head gaskets if that damn thing broke... (the exhaust manifolds are cast into the heads and has a funky loopdy loop on one side)

Thanks guys I think? Its a 2008 Sahara with the 3.8L v6. As for power it seems to run just as good as my 4.0 did in my 04 Explorer. Good enough for me anyway Im not in a hurry. This thing is crazy loaded for a jeep with nav and all power options. Plans are to be used as wifes daily driver with some beach and mountain trips. Any wheeling will be light by most standards so it will remain stock. Would like some more aggressive tires but stock size. thats about it. If you are wondering why i traded off my explorer, it was 2wd for one, but more importantly it had all the issues that usually crop up in them.

I'm a huge fan of the newer jeeps, but that 3.8 motor is just a dog.... No power, not especially reliable, poor fuel economy....
