Im looking to trade my 92 Ranger 4x4 for a 97 Explorer 4x4 im getting bored with the Ranger just wanted some opinions on what i should do or what kind of upgrades you can do with explorers of that year.

i would keep the ranger unless you needed to haul more people... but i know someone with a bad ass explorer with long travel suspension, fiberglass fenders, a roll cage. so they can be badass vehicals too. so wichever you choose is good.

Well lift wise you either going with a custom kit from like Cambridge or Dixon Bros that can cost upwards of 2000$ or you can go with the super lift that is like 1500$. or a body lift. But with a T bar crank and an SOA swap you can probably get 32's or even 33's under it andhave a pretty sweet little rig.

I would keep the Ranger, Bro. If you wanted to....get the Exploder if you really really need to have it. It sounds more like the Ranger has given you a lot of problems and you are wanting real bad to get rid of it...just remember...it will cost a lot to start fixing up the Exploder and then if you have issues you will never be happy!!!! Just a good sit down and talking to yourself will help, Bro....... just my .02, Bro!!!

If you get an expo get a 5.0 so you can at least have some fun no? Idk up to you and your wanted gas consumption.
